Ultrasound
Ultrasonography is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal organs, tissues and fetuses. It is a safe, non-invasive technique that can be used to evaluate a wide range of conditions, including pregnancy, thyroid problems, cysts, tumors and muscle injuries. The images generated by ultrasound are known as "ultrasounds".
Affordable price: Compared to other imaging tests such as CT scans or MRIs, ultrasound is relatively affordable and can be performed easily at the Medic Clinic.
Some diseases diagnosed by ultrasound.
Ultrasound can be used to diagnose a wide range of conditions, including:
- Pregnancy: to assess the development of the fetus and identify possible problems.
- Thyroid problems: to assess the size and structure of the thyroid gland.
- Cysts: to identify cysts in the ovary or breast.
- Tumors: to assess the size and location of tumors in internal organs.
- Muscle injuries: to evaluate injuries to muscles and tendons.
- Cardiovascular diseases: to evaluate the heart and arteries.
- Liver diseases: to evaluate the liver and bile ducts.
- Kidney diseases: to evaluate the kidneys and urinary tract.
- Pancreatic diseases: to evaluate the pancreas.
- Gynecological problems: to evaluate the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries.
- Prostatic problems: to evaluate the prostate.
- Thyroid diseases: to evaluate the thyroid gland and identify possible nodulations.
- Vascular diseases: to evaluate the body's veins and arteries, including the abdominal aorta and carotid arteries.
- Testicular diseases: to assess the health of the testicles.
- Musculoskeletal injuries: to evaluate injuries to bones and muscles, including the spine.
- Fetal abnormalities: to assess the development of the fetus and identify possible problems, such as structural abnormalities or heart problems.
These are just a few of the many conditions that can be evaluated using ultrasound. It is important to note that not all diagnoses should be made solely based on ultrasound results and that other medical tests, such as blood tests and biopsies, may be necessary to confirm a diagnosis.
